“Portrait of my Father”
“Caught in the Headlights” (My Father)
This is one of my early paintings. Putting my father’s head upon the body of a gazelle seemed somewhat comical at the time. I chose the gazelle in particular because of my dads spindle-shank legs and i have attempted to portray him saving the world. In life he’s perched upon his steed encountering the “abrupt global warming!” (the name of his box file folder) and i really take my hat off to him. A wonderful chap and father.

“The Caquetoire Chair” series
“The Caquetoire Chair” series are earlier paintings investigating codification through colour and form. Each triangle, depending on its orientation translates into a letter of the alphabet. The painting as a whole translates into a conversation.
The ‘Caquetoire’ chair or conversation chair dates back to the 17th century in its origins to the European and particularly French Renaissance. These are chairs on which groups of women, particularly would sit and gossip together. Caquetoire actually comes from ‘caqueter’ which means ‘to chat.’

The Moon Feb-Mar 2011
Degree Show 2011
For a full lunar cycle I composed 28 pieces of music consecutively each evening by the light of the moon as an investigation upon the emotional effects the moon has on the mind.
In order to view the flow of emotions I developed a personalised colour music score that allows a visual documentation of the cycle along with the audio of each piece.
The code enhances the sharing of emotion through music and colour (one does not have to understand or empathise with music or the traditional music score) therefore providing an alternative perspective to a traditional method.
